How the service works

A Proven Approach to Keeping Your Business Protected

A lightweight agent on your devices helps us monitor patch status and manage security updates remotely, keeping systems up to date wherever your team works.

First, we agree the devices and software covered, how changes will be authorised, and where your IT provider fits in. That way, everyone knows who is doing what before any update is applied.

Find and prioritise

We check for missing patches on supported systems, review which weaknesses need attention first and explain the reasons in plain English.

Manage the fixes

We coordinate and carry out approved updates within the agreed scope, planning deployment windows and restarts around your business.

Verify and follow up

We check the reported patch status, follow up failures or outstanding work and tell you what has been resolved, what remains open and who owns the next action.

What that means in practice

Protecting Your Business by Keeping Software Secure and Up to Date

Risks put into perspective

We prioritise known security weaknesses and help plan the relevant fixes. When an urgent vulnerability is disclosed, we assess what can be done with the available updates or mitigations.

Not every vulnerability has a patch, and no patching service can prevent every cyber attack.

Someone keeping track

We review the patch status of supported, enrolled devices, including remote workers where the technology and connectivity allow it, rather than leaving the team to interpret a tool's alerts.

Devices must be in the agreed scope and able to connect for current status and updates.

Updates fitted around work

We agree patch approvals, deployment windows and restart arrangements to reduce avoidable disruption to your team.

Some updates still require a restart or temporary interruption.

Reports that lead to action

We explain what has been applied, what failed or remains outstanding and which decisions or actions are needed next. Reporting and follow-up responsibilities are agreed before the service starts.

Patch reports may support compliance evidence, but they do not guarantee certification or wider compliance.

In plain English

What is a software vulnerability?

Think of a software vulnerability as an unlocked door in your IT. It’s a weakness attackers could exploit, potentially causing data loss, disruption, financial costs or damage to your reputation.

Software suppliers often release security updates, known as patches, to close these gaps. Some weaknesses need a different response, and others have no fix available yet.

Our job is to help you understand which supported updates need attention, get approved work moving and make it clear when a different specialist or your IT provider needs to act.

Useful details

Before we get started

Do we need to manage any software ourselves?

You don't need to run the patch management platform yourself. Our team handles the work agreed with you and explains the results, with the precise responsibilities confirmed before the service starts.

Which technology does ExposureIQ use?

We use ManageEngine Patch Manager Plus to support our work. It helps us identify missing patches on supported systems, deploy approved updates and check patch status. The software is one of the tools we use; the service is the assessment, planning, coordination and follow-up our team provides.

Does anything need to be installed?

Yes. The patch management technology uses an agent on each device included in the service. We agree installation, access, supported operating systems and applications, and the deployment approach with you or your IT provider before any work begins.

Can you work with our existing IT provider?

Yes. We agree who handles which updates and follow-up actions. Some changes may be best carried out by your IT provider, and we make those responsibilities clear.

Can you fix zero-day vulnerabilities?

We can help assess the priority and plan a response. Applying a fix depends on an appropriate vendor patch or mitigation being available, and some newly identified vulnerabilities have neither yet.

What if software is no longer supported?

Routine patches may no longer be available. We flag the issue and discuss the next step, such as an upgrade or replacement, with you and your IT provider before anything changes.

Will this fix every issue in a security report?

No. Some findings involve settings, access controls, encryption or other areas outside patch management. We'll distinguish the updates within our agreed remit from work that needs separate assessment or IT support.

Does this guarantee compliance?

No. Patch management and its reports can support your compliance work, but certification depends on the full requirements and controls of the relevant standard.

How much does it cost?

Tell us roughly how many devices you have and what you need help with. We'll discuss the service scope before giving you a price, without obligation.
